Timo Weiland Men's Fall 2011

NEW YORK — Timo Weiland's Men's Fall 2011 collection was presented at Lincoln Center during New York Fashion Week, and Mr. Weiland and his design partner, Alan Eckstein didn't disappoint. While there was plenty of the colonial India meets British expat inspiration in the women's collection, the menswear was more British expat in India, and it made for a perfect balance.

The collection was filled with clean lines that are perfect for those who needed more than basics, because Weiland's label doesn't do basics. What they do make is beautifully tailored wool peacoats, plaid blazers, and colour-blocked sweaters. These are essentials for any man who needs for his clothes to kill two birds with one needle. Heavy Hues | Perry Ellis Spring 2011

Perry Ellis offered-up some heavy hues for men in their SS11 collection. But will we wear it? We've been rocking-out to pink for a minute, but can we throw on some coral and tropical plaid? I think we can. But, no worries if you're the less adventurous of the style bunch. It wasn't an all out sorbet fest. A lot of Ellis' core collection was grounded in neutrals, that came in pleated shorts, chambray, wool, cotton, and linen, with a nice piped gingham blazer thrown in for the die-hards. But it was the double-breasted jackets paired with shorts that stole the show for me. Simon Spurr Spring 2011

I've always liked Simon Spurr's collections because they're decidedly luxurious without apologies. Spurr caters to a man who need just as many suits as he does casual flair in his wardrobe. For his Spring 2011 collection there were perfectly tailored blazers, safari woven-thread, and loads of fashionable coats and jackets throughout. But it was his more casual pieces that caught my attention, thus why the focus is on the outwear here at HeBreathes.I love that you can go from the office to a night on the town, ensuring the Spurr man remains on style point.

Tim Hamilton Redux Men's S/S 2011

On Friday I was floating from room to room, having viewed the Costello Tagliapietra show at Milk Studios, and doing double duty for Goldie, who injured his ankle right before fashion week began. But I didn't mind, because one of my favourite menswear labels, Tim Hamilton's Redux line was a pleasure to explore. The S/S 2011 collection drew inspiration from the northeastern grunge scene in America. The collection was filled with cropped tunic shapes and jersey tees paired with narrow-legged trousers, in faded colours and beautiful blacks, greys, and oatmeal, alongside the Tim Hamilton classic stripes, which combined with the aforementioned made for a nice mix of wearables.

Tim Hamilton Redux A/W 2010

I'm traveling and doing my best to keep this place alive. Lately it's been hard trying to juggle the online presence and working on our print publication, with my move to Paris.Thanks for continuing to read and accepting the sporadic updates.

I realized I never shared Tim Hamilton's Redux A/W 2010 collection that we saw at Milk Studios during NYFW. His Redux collection had a nice mix of tailored pieces combined with the rugged, which made a nice mix of cool streetwear that anyone can get into. The best part of the collection were the tar dipped combat boots. It was something I hadn't seen done before, which makes them all the reason to have and wear the soles out! The entire collection had classic pieces which is what makes Hamilton a master American menswear designer. Check the goods below.

Alejandro Ingelmo Menswear F/W 2010

NYFW | Billy Reid Fall 2010

Billy Reid's Fall 2010 collection was also featured Sunday evening at Milk. The collection was filled with tailored wool three piece suits, wool herringbone pants, wool/cashmere cardigans, and the English wool derby caps were a nice addition. The shoes were not to be missed, with the wing-tipped squire boots being my favorite. This was a masculine and well constructed collection, that piled on the southern gentleman hunter charm, and proved why Reid gets the top honors.

NYFW | Victor Glemaud Fall 2010

Haitian-born designer Victor Glemaud showed at Milk Studios last night. I got there late, but the editor-in-chief of our sister site, SheBreathes was on hand to take in the collection— she loved it. Glemaud's fall collection included a lot of staples and color, with an edgy ski vibe coursing through each look. This collection was definitely one I could see myself wearing and look forward to seeing what the stores carry.

NYFW | Shipley & Halmos SS2010

My expectations were running high for Shipley & Halmos because they are already a staple in my closet and have been since Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos created the label after their stint at Travota. These are buzz wunderkinds so after seeing their video invitation and rspving, I just knew they would blow my mind. I'm not saying they didn't blow my mind but I was expecting a show with models. Instead I got clothes on a rack, free beer and a video installation at their SS2010 Milk Studios presentation. That was fine because once you found a spot to stand there and watch it was entertaining. I eventually found my way over to the clothes and that's where the real fun began. I sifted through the collection past the womenswear and right into the wearable basics for men! It was way to many people to try and really get pictures of the entire collection but we got a few shots, check out what was snapped below.

Now if I give you one more picture will that prove that I just really want this shirt? I really like reading the labels on clothes and the Shipley & Halmos one is great "Crafted with HAND, HEALTH, AND HEART"!

I like details because that's where the real truth lies in any collection checkout these blazers how ingenious is their logo on the inside?

They had some equally nice basics for the ladies too but SheBreathes will handle that part in detail
